Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Moline is a fast-casual franchise restaurant located at 3935 41st Ave. Drive. The cafe recently opened in the former Starbucks building in Rock River Plaza near Walmart. Starbucks closed in December 2024 and relocated at 4200 38th Ave. in Moline.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a smoothie and juice bar that serves a variety of items. The new cafe has wraps and sandwiches, flatbreads, 'dillas, tropical bowls, kids menu, smoothies, and more. The cafe offers vegetarian and is gluten-friendly.Â

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for Lifted Energy in Silvis on Saturday, Aug. 8. The ribbon cutting, hosted by the City of Silvis, begins at 11 a.m. located at 111 Sixth Street.Â

The Clothing Co. will be celebrating their brand new space they will call home with a grand re-opening.
The Clothing Co., a women's boutique store, moved to their new space located at 427 N. Cody Road in LeClaire. The new space is next door to their previous location.Â
The grand re-opening will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 8, located at 427 N. Cody Road in LeClaire. The Clothing Co. moved next door to their old shop.
There will be special giveaways throughout the day during the celebration.
The Clothing Co. is a curated collaborative space featuring 12 small businesses specializing in women's clothing and accessories under one roof.Â

Anna Mae's in Milan has closed
Anna Mae's in Milan is closed after opening in September 2025, offering baked goods, coffee, energy drinks and ice cream treats.Â
The bakery and cafe was located at 503 10th Ave. W, formerly Bowlyou's Ice Cream and Grill.
Anna Mae's announced the closure on Facebook on July 13.
"I am announcing the closure of Anna Mae's, with our final day of operation set for July 31st," the post read. "This was not an easy decision, but it was a necessary one for reasons I am not willing to share at this time. Please respect my family's privacy."
Anna Mae's thanked customers for their patronage, conversations and repeat visits, and thanked the employees and family members for their patience, hard work and caring for the building.
Habaneros in SouthPark Mall has closed, plans to move to new location
The long-time Habaneros Mexican Grill in SouthPark Mall has closed. Habaneros announced they will be moving on Facebook to a new Moline location but the location has not yet been announced. The restaurant has been in business for 22 years at SouthPark Mall.Â

"Hello everyone, we are not closing; we are just moving locations," the post read. "Thank you for all the support we really appreciate all you. We know that the Geneseo location may be a further drive for some of you guys. Stay tuned for our new Moline location!"
Habanero's Mexican Grill's last day of operation at the SouthPark was Sunday, July 26. Habanero's has been serving customers for 22 years at the location.

A couple of years ago, he started selling the produce that he had cultivated and harvested himself out of his parents' garden, thus the beginning of his small business.Â
Everything on the J's Produce stand outside of sweet corn, watermelon and peaches is grown by Jaxon Songer himself. The stand is located at the corner of 53rd and Pine Streets in the parking lot of the Big 10 Mart BP gas station.Â
