Davenport, Iowa — The Quad City Animal Welfare Center (QCAWC), in partnership with the Humane Society of Scott County, St. Anthony Catholic Church, and St. John Vianney Catholic Church, will host Vax & Wags, a free vaccine clinic for dogs on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The community event is designed to make essential veterinary care more accessible to local pet families by providing free rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines for dogs.
The clinic will provide up to 200 free rabies vaccines and 200 free distemper/parvo vaccines while supplies last.
“At QCAWC, we believe access to basic veterinary care should not be out of reach for families who love their pets,” said Patti McRae, executive director of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. “Vaccinations are an important part of keeping dogs healthy and protecting our community. We are grateful to our partners for coming together to make this free event possible.”
What pet owners should know
All dogs attending Vax & Wags must be on a secure leash. Retractable leashes will not be permitted for the safety of the dogs, their families, volunteers, and veterinary team.
A special Blessing of the Animals will also take place at 10:00 a.m. as part of the morning’s activities.
QCAWC’s Mobile Vet Van and veterinary team will be on site administering vaccines and assisting pet guardians throughout the event.
