NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Five members of the Augustana Vikings baseball team have been named to the CCIW All-Conference list, the league announced Tuesday night. Blake Nettleton, Christian Clark, Lawson Shickel, Riley Hendren, and Chance Carruthers were among those recognized.
Nettleton, a First Team All-CCIW pitcher, leads the conference with 114 strikeouts, including 37 looking. The senior also ranks among the top five in four additional categories, sitting second in opposing batting average (.196) and innings pitched (81.1), third in wins (seven), and fifth in earned run average (2.88). Among all conference pitchers, he ranks fifth overall. Nettleton recorded a season-high 15 strikeouts on April 19 at North Park.

Clark earned Second Team honors at shortstop, finishing the season with 44 hits, 38 RBIs, and seven stolen bases. Defensively, the freshman totaled 60 putouts and 88 assists on 155 chances across 40 games. He posted season highs of four hits, four putouts, and six RBIs on March 28 against Wheaton.
Shickel garnered Second Team recognition as a utility player, ranking seventh in the conference with a .474 on-base percentage. The freshman appeared in 29 of 40 games and posted a .349 batting average, fourth-best on the team. He closed the regular season with 29 hits, 19 runs, and 14 RBIs, while adding 153 putouts and 16 assists at first base. Shickel recorded a season-high three hits, including two doubles, on May 1 at Carroll, and tallied 15 putouts on April 15 against Millikin.
Hendren secured Second Team honors in the outfield and appears on 12 of the conference's 19 statistical leaderboards. The sophomore leads the CCIW in hits (72), doubles (19), and at-bats (197), while also ranking fourth in runs scored (53) and hit by pitches (17), fifth in home runs (eight), and sixth in RBIs (45) and stolen bases (22). He owns a .594 slugging percentage (seventh) and a 1.039 OPS, along with a .635 batting average in conference play. Hendren leads the Vikings in batting average, hits, doubles, and triples. He recorded a standout performance on April 4 against Elmhurst, notching season highs of six hits, two home runs, four runs scored, and six RBIs.
Carruthers earned Second Team honors as a pitcher, finishing the regular season ranked on six CCIW leaderboards. The senior is second in strikeouts looking (34) and fourth in total strikeouts (68), while also ranking fourth in wins (six) and 10th in innings pitched (60.1). He posted a perfect fielding percentage with six putouts and seven assists. Carruthers struck out a season-best 11 batters on March 8 against Hiram in Florida.
Additionally, a member of the team was the recipient of the CCIW RESPECT award.
