MUSCATINE, Iowa - The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train returns to Muscatine on Tuesday, Nov. 24, transforming the riverfront into a celebration of music, lights, and community spirit.
The festively decorated train is scheduled to arrive at Riverside Park at 7:45 p.m., with live performances by international recording artists MAGIC! and Montana-born singer-songwriter MARIS taking place from 7:45 to 8:15 p.m.
Now in its 28th year, the CPKC Holiday Train travels across North America each holiday season to raise funds, collect food, and support local food banks. Since launching in 1999, the program has raised more than $28.3 million and collected more than 5.6 million pounds of food for communities across Canada and the United States.
“Our railroaders take great pride in bringing the Holiday Train through hundreds of communities across our network to support people facing food insecurity,” said Keith Creel, CPKC President and Chief Executive Officer. “Through the generosity of the thousands of families and fans who come out to see the Holiday Train and support local food banks, whether for the first time or as part of a long-running holiday tradition, we can spread the joy of the season and support the giving spirit of the holidays."

Each Holiday Train stop features a free outdoor concert and an opportunity for residents to make a difference close to home. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or make a monetary donation to support local families. In Muscatine, all donations will benefit The Salvation Army, and every dollar and food item collected during the event will stay in the community.
For many residents, the Holiday Train has become an annual kickoff to the holiday season. Thousands gather downtown each year to watch the 14 brilliantly illuminated railcars roll into Muscatine, creating a memorable experience for families, friends, and visitors of all ages.
When the train arrives and safely comes to a stop in front of the crowd, a stage built into one of the railcars will open for a festive evening of entertainment. Concert performances will be interspersed with a brief presentation highlighting the impact of local food bank donations before the train continues its journey to the next community along the route.
