ROME, Ga. (AP) -- Braden Shewmake hit a grand slam in the eighth inning, and Dilmer Mejia allowed just four hits over seven innings as the Rome Braves topped the Augusta GreenJackets 11-0 on Sunday.
The grand slam by Shewmake came in the midst of a six-run inning and gave the Braves a 10-0 lead. Later in the inning, Jeremy Fernandez hit an RBI triple, driving in Shea Langeliers.
Mejia (7-2) struck out five to pick up the win.
Keith Weisenberg (1-3) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and four hits in the South Atlantic League game. He also struck out five and walked six.
Rome took advantage of some erratic Augusta pitching, drawing a season-high 10 walks in its victory.
The GreenJackets were blanked for the ninth time this season, while the Braves' staff recorded their seventh shutout of the year.
Rome improved to 8-4 against Augusta this season.
