BELOIT, Wis. – The Quad Cities River Bandits rallied for two runs in the top of the fourth inning on Ryan Bottger's two-run double to forge a 2-all tie with hosting Beloit in Class A Midwest League action at Pohlman Field on Wednesday. And that is where the game stood an inning later when it was suspended because of a power failure. The game is scheduled to be completed today at 4:30 ahead of the regularly-scheduled game that will be a seven-inning clash.
Bottger's double followed a single by Jamie Ritchie and Derek Fisher's double. QC out-hit Beloit 6-5 up to that point. Bandits starting pitcher Chris Lee walked one and struck out four and had given up just one earned run through four innings.
Before Wednesday's game, the River Bandits and Astros made a roster move. Second baseman Nick Tanielu was transferred from QC to Extended Spring Training. He was leading the Bandits with a .412 batting average and 1.092 OPS. He led the team in hits (seven), doubles (two), triples (one) and was second in RBIs (three) and total bases (11). His roster spot was filled by Bryan Muniz.
