DURANGO, Mexico (AP) -- Juan Carlos Gamboa doubled twice, driving in two runs as the Diablos Rojos del Mexico defeated the Generales de Durango 10-8 on Saturday.
Armando Araiza singled twice with three runs for Mexico.
Up 1-0, Mexico batted around in the sixth inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs, including a two-run home run by Emmanuel Avila.
Trailing 10-5, the Generales cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Javier Salazar scored on a groundout and Jon Kemmer hit a two-run home run.
Mexico starter Patrick Johnson (2-1) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Jorge Martinez (2-2) took the loss in the Mexican League game after allowing three runs and six hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Several Generales chipped in at the plate, as five players collected at least two hits. Daniel Mayora doubled twice and singled, scoring two runs.
Mexico improved to 4-1 against Durango this season.
