In a newly released interview, former President Donald Trump was asked about the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters who threatened to kill Vice President Mike Pence. Did Trump respond as any responsible adult would, and condemn that threat? Of course not. Repeating his delusional claim that Pence could have overturned the election, Trump defended the rioters’ fury at his vice president, calling it “common sense.”

Every election on the federal level we are given a choice of voting for candidate A or B. Both are in need of vast sums of money to run. Where does that kind of money come from?

DES MOINES — Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said last week she came away with a new insight into troubling immigration and security issues after touring the Texas-Mexico border and she wishes President Joe Biden would do the same in addressing what she termed a “self-inflicted crisis.”

Columnist Marc Thiessen made some very bad assessments in his column on Aug. 13. First, he says the Democrats have gone too far, with their infrastructure package, and this will come back to haunt them in the 2022 mid-term elections. The GOP under President Donald Trump did nothing during his tenure, except cut taxes for the wealthy elite. Meanwhile, under President Joe Biden the Democrats have done more in six months than the GOP did in four years.
