Quad-City Times Bix 7 race director Michelle Juehring said the annual event is one of the area's gems - and she is humbled to be a part of it.
"I ran it for 15 (years), now I stand here and drink beer."
Every couple minutes Dale Keppy broke into cheers as another person he knew went by during the Bix 7.
"I volunteer for this job," Broders said. "These 14,000 cups have gotta go somewhere."
Wayne Mussman was happy to spend his weekend off volunteering the the Quad City Times Bix 7.
Tom and Linda Hughes and their family use the Bix 7 as a chance to promote organ donation.
Heights of the Era will feature 12 music acts from 7:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. July 24. A pre-event is scheduled for June 25 at Lindsay Park in Davenport.
The COVID-19 pandemic turned the travel industry upside down. Hotels, casinos, museums and other segments of the local tourism economy, though, are starting to see signs of recovery as the pandemic wanes and more Americans get vaccinated and feel the itch to travel and venture out.
Come this Saturday, Quad-Citians and tourists alike can see the amazing sight of the biggest road race in the Quad-Cities.
The Quad-City Times Bix 7 Road Race is only a month away. And it's going to be a special year.
