The other day we watched “Jesus Christ Superstar” on DVD. It was clear that history does indeed repeat itself.
Jesus Christ’s problems were that he taught the people that if they had faith in God and in themselves, they could do many things for themselves and others without the aid of entrenched bureaucracy, aka the priests and their followers.
He also pointed out that these priests were using their positions for personal gain such as using the sacred temple as a marketplace. Thus, the bureaucracy was threatened by enlightened and energized people.
Jesus was not guilty of any crime. Since Jesus was not guilty, it was difficult to find an official who would sentence him to death as the bureaucracy wanted. Hence, he was sent from Herod to Pilate and others before a politically expedient mob-rule justification was found to kill him.
Donald Trump’s problems are that he promotes lower taxes, less regulation and makes the people feel they can do things without the government bureaucracy. This means that the bureaucrats, who are used to making rules often for their own self-interest, could lose their influence and maybe even their jobs. Thus, the bureaucracy is threatened by an enlightened and energized people.
Donald is not guilty of any crime and yet the entrenched bureaucracy and politicians continue to conduct investigation after investigation using taxpayer money in an effort to find something they can use to kill his presidency. With luck, they will not succeed and our republic with people rule will continue.
