Tony and Virginia Bubon
Tony L. and Virginia M. Bubon, 203 N. Scandia St., Alpha, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14.
The former Virginia Crouch and Mr. Bubon were married Feb. 14, 1946, in the Lutheran Parsonage in Orion.
They are the parents of Diane Peterson, New Windsor, and Kent Bubon, Alpha. There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
The couple were in business for 46 years at Bubon's Service Station, Alpha.
David and Beverly McIntire
David and Beverly McIntire, 327 16th Ave., Silvis, were honored Jan. 20 at a family dinner in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The former Beverly Land and Mr. McIntire both of East Moline, were married Jan. 20, 1951, in the parsonage of the First Baptist Church, Silvis.
They are the parents of Dennis McIntire and Lynn Arndt, both of East Moline, and David McIntire, Preemption. There are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. McIntire has been owner for 38 years of McIntire Dry Wall and Construction Co., in the Quad City area, and presently is employed part time for the Silvis School District as a bus driver.
Mrs. McIntire was employed for 21 1/2 years by ARA Mark Inc., Moline Division where she was office manager, retiring in 1995. She presently is employed part time by International Total Services Inc., Moline.
They are members of Grace United Methodist Church, East Moline.
Jim and Juanita Harker
Jim and Juanita Harker, Box 93, 302 Canton, Woosung, formerly of East Moline, will be honored Feb. 18 at a family dinner in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The former Juanita Combs, Prophetstown, and Mr. Harker, Hooppole, were married Feb. 18, 1951, in Zion EUB Church, Hooppole.
Their children and spouses are Gail and Nels Nelson, Seward, Neb.; Karen and Gary Greenfield, Mount Morris, and Russ Harker, Gurnee. There are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harker was employed for 11 years by Universal Foods, Amboy, where he was a scheduling assistant. He retired in June of 1995.
The couple belong to Faith Assembly Church, Grand Detour.

Merwin ``Mert'' Baker, 1418 17th St., East Moline, will be honored Feb. 18 at a reception in observance of his 75th birthday.

Mr. Baker was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Moline. He married Margaret Larson of West Liberty, Iowa, on Oct. 19, 1946 , in St. John's Catholic Church, Rapids City.
Their children are Linda Vaughn, Kathie McIntosh, Marcia Allen, Chris Baker, Daniel Baker, Cordova, Pam, Paula and Marty Baker, all of East Moline, Denise Baker, Silvis, Steve Baker, Arlington, Texas, and Sandy Cordova, Thornton, Colo. There are 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Baker retired in 1977 after 34 1/2 years employment at East Moline Plant of International Harvester Co., where he was an assembler. He also was employed during those same years at Flicks Plumbing, Moline.
He belongs to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton.
Darlene Jones, 3223 67th Ave., Moline, will observe her 75th birthday on Feb. 17. She will be honored at a family reunion and dinner later this summer.
The former Darlene Blanchard Carlisle was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Illinois City. She was married to Cletis Jones on March 25, 1951, in the United Methodist Church, Rock Island.
Her children are Tamara L. Pratt, Coal Valley, and Kip L. Jones, Milan. There are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. One grandchild and one great-grandchild are deceased.
Mrs. Jones was a teacher at the former Cole School, north of Illinois City. She retired in 1986 from employment with Dan-A-Way Bus Lines, Coal Valley, and also as a representative of Avon Products.
She is a former member of the Methodist Church at Illinois City.
Wayne Nelson, New Windsor, will be honored Feb. 17 at a family dinner in observance of his 90th birthday.
Mr. Nelson was born Feb. 13, 1911, in New Windsor. He married Olive Peterson of New Windsor, on Sept. 10, 1938, in Washington, Iowa. She is deceased.
He is the father of Darrell Nelson, Lincoln, Neb., Larry Nelson, New Windsor, and Susan Collins, Moline. There are four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Nelson retired in 1972 from employment with Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline.
He belongs to Calvary Lutheran Church, New Windsor.
Olga ``Brooks'' Swanson, Moline, will be honored Feb. 17 at a reception in observance of her 80th birthday.

The honoree was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Her children and their spouses are Chris and Sue Swanson, Kent and Pam Swanson, and John and Selena Swanson, and a son-in-law, Joe Haney. A daughter, Paula Haney, is deceased. She has 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Swanson was a member of the Marine Corps during World War II. She moved to Moline in 1945. She is a life member of the Moline American Legion, Moline Vikings and the VFW.
