Greek Food Festival planned (copy)

The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church will host a two-day Greek Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20. Admission is free, and the event will go on rain or shine.

Menu items will include gyros, pastitsio (Greek lasagna), souvlaki (shish kebabs), spanakopita (spinach puffs), and dolmades (meat and rice mixture wrapped in grape leaves). Homemade desserts will include baklava and loukoumades (fried doughnuts). Both dine-in and carry-out orders will be accepted.

The event will take place in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 4900 Kennedy Drive, East Moline. Festivities will include Greek music and church tours. Indoor and patio seating will be available.
