Channel Cat

"Explore the River" program this summer include narrated talks on the Channel Cat water taxi. Above, a Channel Cat boat takes its first run of the season in 2009.

Because flooding has delayed the opening of the season for the Channel Cat water taxi, several River Action programs that are presented on the Channel Cat have been rescheduled.

The Channel Cat Talks will begin once the season is underway.

“Set Sail” has been moved to July 2 and 3. “Photography” has been moved to July 10. “The History of Fort Armstrong and Arsenal Island” is rescheduled for Sept 3 and 5. And “Hydro-Potential” is rescheduled for Sept. 10 and 12.

To register for any of the programs, visit riveraction.org/education. Brochures are available at River Action’s office, 822 E. River Drive, Davenport, and at the Midwest Writing Center, 401 19th St. Rock Island.
