Eric States was among the cast members in the production of “Cinderella,” produced last summer by Prairie Fire Children’s Theater in coordination with the Geneseo Park District. The group is returning this year for a production of “Robin Hood.”

GENESEO — Young people are invited to audition for parts in an original musical production of “Robin Hood” with the Prairie Fire Children’s Theater Company.

Youth must be from 7 to 16 years of age to audition for parts, and auditions will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at the Geneseo High School Theater, 700 North State St.

The program is sponsored by the Geneseo Park District with assistance from Richmond Hill Players and Hazelwood Homes, Geneseo.

Anne Nelms, the marketing coordinator for the Geneseo Park District, said the theater company, which is based in Barnett, Minn., had produced several previous shows with the Park District. Two professional actors/directors with PFCT will audition and cast local youth.

“Everyone receives a part, and participants experience the excitement of producing a musical while working and learning together,” she said.

Pre-registration is required for auditions and individual schedules will be provided after the auditions. Pre-registration is at the Geneseo Community Center, 541 East North St.

Rehearsals will be from July 22 to 27, with performances at 7 p.m. Friday, July 26, and at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27. Performances will be at Geneseo High School Theater.

Cost is $65 for each actor, and two complimentary tickets are included in the registration fee. Tickets, at $3 for adults and $2 for children 18 and younger, are available for purchase at the Geneseo Community Center.
