Vacation Bible School set at RI First Baptist
ROCK ISLAND — “Follywood” is the theme of the 2019 Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church, 3020 30th St., Rock Island.
Sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon from Monday, June 17, through Thursday, June 20, and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21.
“Lights! Camera! Action! Big Picture Studios” will feature a movie studio where children who attend the Bible school will learn about the greatest superstar of all — our Lord Jesus. The week will include skits, music, crafts, games and more.

St. Paul's in Moline schedules Bible School
MOLINE — St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 153 19th Ave., Moline, will have a vacation Bible school Monday, June 10, through Thursday, June 13, for children ages 4 to sixth grade.
This year's theme will be "One-of-a-Kind Zoo," and will feature Bible stories, music, crafts, games and snacks. Enrollment will be 8:45 to 9 a.m., Monday, June 10. Call 309-762-8183.
Prayer Breakfast is June 15 in Davenport
DAVENPORT — The youth ministry at Higher Heights Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual prayer breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 15.
Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9:45 a.m., followed by the program from 10 to 11 a.m., at Community of Christ Church, 4221 N. Brady St., Davenport.
"Youth Praying in Confidence," based on John 5:14-15, will be the theme. The event will cost $7 for adults 18-years and older, and $5 for youth, aged 4 to 7 years old.

Port Byron church holds ice cream social
PORT BYRON — Church of the Cross, 22621 Illinois 2 and 92, Port Byron, will hold a homemade ice cream social, from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 18.
Menu items will include barbecues, baked beans, cake, ice cream sold by the scoop or quart, potato salad, pies and beverages.
