MOLINE — Donald R. Severns, 72, of Moline, died Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Donald Severns Memorial Fund.

Donald Raymond Severns was born July 20, 1946, in Moline, the son of Raymond and Harriet Lott Severns. He was educated in Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1964. His marriage to Cynthia M. Hartman took place on June 24, 1978, in Aledo.

He worked in construction for Montgomery Elevator in Moline and retired in 2004 as a service technician for Kone Elevator. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors and served as treasurer of the I.U.E.C Local #46.

Don served on the Martherville Village Board, and he was a volunteer fireman when he lived in Matherville. His hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and camping.

Those surviving are his wife, Cindy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tracie and Tim Carother, Sherrard, Bambi and Tim Wilburn, Center, Texas, and Joleen and Brian Easley, Moline; and two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Anji Severns, Matherville, and Brent Severns, Belleville. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Janice Schadt, Huntley, Illinois, and Donna (Robert) Partlow, Center, Texas.

His parents and a sister, Joyce Miller, preceded him in death.
