Executive Director
Optician

We currently have an opening for a full-time Optician. Responsibilities include assisting
patients in selecting appropriate eyewear to fit their needs including adjusting,
assembling, and repair. Opticians also interpret prescriptions and neutralize lenses
and are responsible for all aspects of customer service and patient needs including
answering patient questions concerning eyewear and contact lenses, materials
insurance coverage, and explanations of visual acuity. Opticians work closely with
physicians, optical laboratories, and optical patient accounts specialist.
Requirements: Candidates must be a high school graduate with a minimum of
three years prior optical experience. No certification or licensing is required, but
are encouraged to pursue certification as an ABOC through the American Board
of Opticianry. It is imperative this individual is able to work effectively in a team
environment, requiring minimal supervision. Must possess good interpersonal and
communication skills and be neat and accurate.

SNAP-Ed Community Worker
University of Illinois Extension is hiring a SNAP-Ed Community Worker
to work with local residents (youth and adult) identified by Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-ED) to provide basic nutrition, food
safety, physical activity, and food budgeting education for low-income
individuals. Training is provided. This position will be based in our Rock
Island County Extension office located in Milan, IL. It is a 100%-time,
benefits-eligible Civil Service position. The work schedule is to be
determined (37.5 hours per week, 12 months per year).
The minimum salary is $13.38 per hour.

Clinton Housing Authority (CHA), located in Clinton, IA, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Executive Director. CHA has 50 units of scattered site family public housing, 424 Housing Choice Vouchers
and Stay N Play Childcare/Preschool Center (licensed for 52 children by the State of Iowa). Additionally,
the Executive Director serves as the Managing Agent for two (2) HUD Multifamily Section 202/8 properties
owned by Clinton Ecumenical Housing, Inc. (Park Tower, 71 units) and Clinton Ecumenical North, Inc.
(Lyons Manor, 50 units). The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Commissioners for the
planning, implementation, direction, and administration of all CHA programs and functions.
The requirements are a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Public or Business Administration or a closely
related field, with three years of progressively responsible experience in management or administration or
an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the ability to fulfill the essential
job duties of the position. Also required are: valid driver’s license, strong communication skills (both oral and
written), professional and administrative capabilities, and experience supervising personnel. Public Housing
Management Certification and Multifamily Management Certification required within one year of hire.
A competitive compensation package will be offered. Salary is commensurate with experience and
education. Criminal background check and drug testing are required.

This position will require after-hours emergency

operator qualification program and must be able to
obtain an 80% passing grade on operator qualification
tests. Applicant must have knowledge of electrical
and natural gas theory as well as above average
mechanical aptitude and have or be able to receive an
Illinois Commercial Driver’s License.
This position is in our Albany/Erie service area and will
require after-hours outage and emergency response.
