Optician

We currently have an opening for a full-time Optician. Responsibilities include assisting
patients in selecting appropriate eyewear to fit their needs including adjusting,
assembling, and repair. Opticians also interpret prescriptions and neutralize lenses
and are responsible for all aspects of customer service and patient needs including
answering patient questions concerning eyewear and contact lenses, materials
insurance coverage, and explanations of visual acuity. Opticians work closely with
physicians, optical laboratories, and optical patient accounts specialist.
Requirements: Candidates must be a high school graduate with a minimum of
three years prior optical experience. No certification or licensing is required, but
are encouraged to pursue certification as an ABOC through the American Board
of Opticianry. It is imperative this individual is able to work effectively in a team
environment, requiring minimal supervision. Must possess good interpersonal and
communication skills and be neat and accurate.
