About the archives These archives are divided into several sections:
1. Quad-Cities Online Archive: This archive begins Aug. 1, 1998, and is updated each day as content from The Dispatch, The Rock Island Argus, The Leader, and other associated publications is moved online. For the period Aug. 1, 1998 through Jan. 1, 2004, a small percentage of stories is missing. Beginning Jan. 1, 2004, all content from the papers is included.
2. The Dispatch/Argus Archive: This archive begins Aug. 1, 1993, and ends Dec. 31, 2003. It contains about 99.9 percent of the editorial content from the Dispatch/Argus for that period.
3. The Recipes archive contains more than 2,000 recipes collected from the annual Holiday Food Guides published by The Dispatch, The Rock Island Argus, and The Leader.
4. The Special Sections index includes special publications and projects from the past decade which were archived separately in some cases from the general news. These are particularly useful for general information about Quad-Cities businesses, history and community.
5. Local Events is an ongoing community calendar. Listings are free. To submit an event, please click here.
6. Photo Reprint is an archive of photos published in The Dispatch, The Rock Island Argus, and The Leader. It also contains many photos published only online, particularly those taken at high school sporting events, recognition ceremonies and other events. Photos are available for reprints, digital or paper, here.
7. Display Ads contains advertisements that were published in the newspapers within the past month. Not all ads are included.
8. Classifieds searches the current day's classified ads from the newspapers. (Some larger ads may not be indexed.) For a search of the past 30 days in Classifieds, please go to the Classifieds page.
9. Ask Us Anything is an archive of more than 700 questions and answers from local readers to the Quad-Cities Online staff. Another good source of historical and community information.
10. QCHomes.com contains advertisements of homes for sale in the Quad-Cities area of Illinois and Iowa.
