Comment on this recipe

Ingredients

Nine slices of bread, crusts removed
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
5 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

Heat the broiler to 400 degrees. Cut the crusts off nine slices of sandwich bread. Place them on an ungreased 17x14-inch cookie sheet. Brown them in the oven. Watch carefully, do not let them burn. Place them on racks with the toasted side down. Mix together sugar and cinnamon. Melt five tablespoons butter over low heat in a four quart skillet. Dip the four edges of the toast in the butter, then the untoasted side of each slice. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered side of each with a spoon. Place these on the ungreased cookie sheet and return it to the oven. Again, watch carefully. When browned, use a spatula to place them on a large platter and serve with coffee, tea or milk.
