Christmas Chip Cookie

I sometimes substitute red/green M&Ms for the raspberry chips.

Ingredients

2/3 cup soft shortening
2/3 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup slivered almonds
12 ounces raspberry chips

Instructions

Mix the first six ingredients together. Combine the flour, soda and salt in another bowl. Then mix the dry ingredients into the shortening mixture. Fold in the nuts and chips. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.
