Christmas Macaroons

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
1/2 pound marshmallows (or 32 large marshmallows)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
4 cups cornflakes
1/2 cup chopped, toasted almonds
1/2 cup candied mixed fruit

Instructions

In top of double boiler, over hot but not boiling water, melt butter or margarine and marshmallows. Add maple syrup and stir well to mix. Combine cornflakes, almonds and candied fruit. Pour hot marshmallow mixture over almond and fruit mixture and toss lightly with a fork to mix throughly. Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper. Let cool. Makes about 3 dozen.
