Chocolate Syrup Brownies

1 stick margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 can chocolate syrup
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until light. Gradually add chocolate syrup. Add flour and salt. Stir in nuts if used. Spread in greased 17x11x3/4-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Makes 48 brownies.
