Apple Nut Cake

So excellent and seasonal.

3 eggs
1-3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 cup oil (substitute half with 1/2 cup applesauce)
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups chopped apples (Jonathans work well)

Combine eggs, sugar and oil. Add baking soda, salt, cinnamon and flour. Stir well. Add walnuts and apples. Bake in greased 9x13-inch pan for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
Serve cooled with whipped topping.
