Frozen Biscuits

I always double this recipe to make 20-24 biscuits.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 egg, beaten

Instructions

Combine all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Mix egg and milk together and add to flour mixture. Mix and knead to a soft dough. Roll out on floured board. Cut into biscuits. Freeze on cookie sheet in single layer then bag for storage. DO NOT THAW BEFORE BAKING! Bake 20 minutes in 425 degree oven. Makes 10-12 biscuits.
