Pear Under Orange Cream Salad

This is a very pretty salad and is also very tasty. This came from one of our church dinners which one of the ladies brought.

4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
Dash of salt
2 cups Cool Whip
5 or 6 pears (or 30 ounces canned pears)

Beat egg yolks lightly. Add sugar and orange juice. Cook over moderate heat until thick, approximately 5 minutes. Add salt. Let cool, then add Cool Whip and pears. Makes 6 servings.
