Phyllis' Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

4 or 5 baking potatoes, peeled and sliced
3 cups cubed ham
3 cups grated cheddar cheese
1/2 stick margarine
1 cup milk
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
Salt and pepper

Put a layer of potatoes, then a layer of ham, then cheese in a 2-1/2 quart baking dish sprayed with Pam. Repeat. Dot with margarine. Mix milk and soup. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour over casserole. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. I think it's better if it's stirred once or twice during baking.
