Asparagus Casserole

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
1-1/2 cups Waverly cracker crumbs
2 pounds asparagus, steamed and drained
Sliced almonds
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 jar Old English cheese

Instructions

Melt butter and mix with cracker crumbs. Put on sides and bottom of 9x13-inch pan. Arrange asparagus over crumbs. Sprinkle sliced almonds over asparagus. Melt butter in saucepan; add flour to thicken. Add Old English cheese. Pour over asparagus, sprinkle more crushed crumbs on top. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
