Oven Stew

2 cups tomato juice
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoons instant tapioca
4 potatoes, sliced
6 carrots sliced
1 onion chopped
1 to 1-1/2 pounds stew meat


Mix first six ingredients until well mixed. Add potatoes, carrots, onion and meat. Pour in 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Stir occasionally.
