Fruit Cocktail Salad

Ingredients

1 can (14 ounces) fruit cocktail
1 package (3 ounces) cherry gelatin
1 jar (8 ounces) red maraschino cherries
1 cup pecan halves
8 ounces cream cheese
1/3 cup miracle whip
2 cups minature marshmallows
2 envelopes (1/3 ounce each) Dream Whip

Instructions

Drain the juice from the fruit cocktail, reserving one cup. Place juice in a small saucepan. Bring to boil and remove from the stove. Add dry gelatin and let it dissolve. Let cool to syrup thickness in the refrigerator. In large bowl, place the drained fruit cocktail. Take a knife and cut the red marachino cherries into small pieces and add. Cut the pecans in half and add to this mixture. Use a small mixer bowl, place the cream cheese and miracle whip. Mix on low until blended. Fold this mixture into the fruit cocktail, cherries and pecans. Blend for one minute. Now add the syrupy gelatin mixture. Mix just until blended. Follow the directions on the Dream Whip package for whipping. Gently stir the marshmallows into the Dream Whip. Fold this mixture into the gelatin mixture. Put into a serving bowl and refrigerate. Serving 10.
