Rhubarb Bread

Ingredients

1-1/2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup sour cream
2-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups finely diced rhubarb
1/2 cups nuts
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon butter

Instructions

Beat brown sugar, oil and egg. Add vanilla and salt. Mix soda and sour cream and add to first mixture. Add flour, rhubarb and nuts. Pour into two greased loaf pans. Top with sugar and butter blended together. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

1989 -- 25 years ago: The B-29 Super-Fortress bomber is impressive looking, and it did the job during World War II. Its claim to fame is dropping the atomic bombs in Japan to end the war. Only one B-29 is operational in the world today. It is on display at the Quad City Airport in Moline until Friday.
