Apple Pudding

1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups apples, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add chopped apples and beaten egg. Mix flour with baking powder and salt; add to apples. Pour into a greased 8x8-inch pan. Sprinkle heavily with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.
Serve with cool whip or ice cream.
