Sour Cream Raisin Bars

Ingredients

1-3/4 cups oatmeal
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup margarine
4 egg yolks
3 tablespoons corn starch
2 cups sour cream
2 cups raisins
1-1/2 cups sugar

Instructions

Combine first 5 ingredients and mix thoroughly. Put 2/3 of mixture in greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Combine next 5 ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 5 to 10 minutes. Pour over crumb crust and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

1989 -- 25 years ago: Fort Armstrong hotel once the wining and dining chambers of Rock Island's elite is under repair. Progress is being made though at a seeming snail's pace to return the building to a semblance of its past glory for senior citizen's homes.
