Skillet Dressing

Ingredients

8 tablespoons butter
l large onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter-flavored Crisco
1 large loaf white bread, cubed including crusts
2 eggs
3-1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Melt butter in deep 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Saute onion in butter. Add Crisco and bread cubes and saute until golden brown. In separate medium mixing bowl, beat eggs and stir in milk. Add this mixture to skillet. Add salt, celery seed and black pepper. Cover and stir occasionally over low heat for 15 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
