I have been making this for many years. "It's delicious, easy to prepare and a favorite in our family."
1 medium-size head of cabbage
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup cream or use 12-ounce can of evaporated milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 or 3 strips of bacon
Shred cabbage and place in buttered casserole. Mix sugar, flour and cream. Add salt and pepper and pour over cabbage. Place bacon on top.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Remove cover a while before taking from oven so bacon is crisp.
