"A good main dish anytime. Also, can be cooked in a Crockpot. I let this cook while I am at work and is ready when I return home. "Add tortillas, cornbread muffins or rolls and you have a very good meal."

Ingredients

1 pound dry pinto beans, washed and picked over
2- to 3- pound pork roast
1 tablespoon garlic
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin seed
1 teaspoon oregano
1 (4 ounce) can green chilies
3 teaspoons salt

Instructions

Mix together all ingredients in a 2-quart Dutch oven and cover with water. On top of stove, cook on very low heat for about 6 hours.
