Fresh Mushroom Pate

1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt


Saute mushrooms in butter 5 to 10 minutes or until tender and liquid has evaporated. Place in blender with remaining ingredients. Process until smooth. Refrigerate, covered, at least 3 hours. Garnish as desired. Spread on assorted crackers or thinly sliced baguettes.
