Two people are running for the Edgington Township supervisor's seat and five people are running for four seats on the township board.

Republican Jeffrey S. Keller and Democrat Frank Venable are seeking the supervisor's post, while Republicans David Mueller, Kevin Oak and Brian Mueller, and Democrats Thomas J. DeClerck and Mike Wynes are seeking the four open seats on the township board.

Mr. Wynes was the only one who returned a candidate's questionnaire to The Dispatch/Rock Island Argus.

WHY RUNNING: As a taxpayer in Edington Township I feel an obligation to help administer tax dollars wisely for everyone within its boundaries.

KEY ISSUE: Roads and taxes will always be major issues for townships in this part of Illinois. How can we spend our money more efficiently? Township maintained roads in this township are in reasonably good shape. The trucks and equipment are in good condition. Let's keep the tax levy as low as possible for our residents.
