Director, Digital Products and Marketing - Full-Time

Work with a team that is charged with developing and managing a wide array of digital advertising products for SNGii and the websites for its daily newspapers in Rochester MN, Austin MN, Moline/Rock Island IL, Ottawa IL and Kankakee IL. Responsibilities include increasing the profitability of existing products and developing new products. Work with internal developers and outside vendors to deliver exceptional digital products and solutions that will be sold to local businesses by SNG Multimedia Sales Associates. Director must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality and must understand how to create marketing and sales materials and communicate the value proposition to our sales force.

Ability to communicate with all areas of the company and wear many hats. You will work with associates in each SNG market to define the go-to-market strategy, help them understand the product positioning, key benefits and target customer. You will serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offerings, occasionally working with the sales personnel and key customers.

Essential Job Functions Require: Functional knowledge of digital technology including Mobile, Social Media, texting and email marketing; create effective presentations using Power Point, PhotoShop, InDesign and other creative programs; ability to travel to customers, company locations and out of market - some overnight travel; valid drivers license, safe driving record and reliable transportation

Compensation plan includes base salary plus incentive

Responsibilities will include increasing the profitability of existing products. The manager will work with internal developers and outside vendors to deliver exceptional digital products and solutions that will be sold to local businesses by SNG Multimedia Sales Associates. To be successful, you must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must understand how to create marketing and sales materials and communicate the value proposition to our sales force.

The manager will communicate with all areas of the company and wear many hats. Required: 3+ years of software marketing/product management or relevant experience. Ability to create presentations using Power Point, Photoshop, InDesign or other creative programs.

Experience working with local advertising products and services a plus.

1962 -- 50 years ago: Mrs. Isado I. Katz and her daughter, Miss Judith Katz, Rock Island, will present the program Saturday at the annual luncheon of the Woman's Club of Rock Island, to be held at 12:30 p.m. in Memorial Christian Church parlors. Featured will be dramatic highlights from Broadway plays. The mother-daughter duo have had extensive experience in such presentations and have given programs for varied audiences.

1987 -- 25 years ago: Thirty-one Moline High School student bakers showed up for class Thursday with flour, pie-filling and measuring cups in hand as hopeful entrants in the school's Tenth Annual Pie Baking Contest. The student bakers, mostly from foods and nutrition and independent living classes, sweated over a hot baking oven on an unusually humid morning. The heat didn't dampen the bakers' eagerness to win the blue ribbon for best pie, but it did put a dent in more than one meringue. Eleven boys and 20 girls

entered this year's contest.
