On April 16, Quad-Cities food enthusiasts will have a chance to experience the excitement of a live cooking demonstration at the Taste of Home Cooking School--and leave with 10 new recipes to add to their kitchen repertoire.
Italian sausage pot stickers. Raspberry barbeque sauce. Mango lime pie. These are just some of the tasty recipes to be prepared on stage by culinary specialist Guy Klinzing. By the end of the show, he said, audience members will "have the confidence to go home and make these dishes flawlessly."
In just over two hours, Mr. Klinzing will demonstrate each recipe from start to finish, offering kitchen tips that make their preparation a snap. The recipes are taken straight from the pages of Taste of Home magazine, which collects family-favorite dishes and rigorously tests the recipes to ensure success.
Using familiar ingredients and simple instructions, it's possible to make weeknight meals at home that have "restaurant sophistication," said Mr. Klinzing, explaining his enthusiasm for his work.
For example, he said, "most of us enjoy pot stickers but never think to make them at home." He will show the audience how to do exactly that, along with variations on each recipe that will allow home cooks to make the recipes truly their own.
