Permanent exhibits at the Family Museum, 2900 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf, include Lil 'Ssippi River Valley; Amazing Acres, about weather and agriculture; Busy Bodies: Healthy Choices; The PlayHouse for ages 5 and under; and the outdoor Kingdom for Kids Playground, open when weather permits. Hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday; closed on some holidays. Admission is $7 for ages 2-59; $4 for ages 60 and up and age 1; active military and immediate family; free for under age 1. Call 563-344-4106 or email for details.

1989 -- 25 years ago: A Rock Island woman is one of 50 winners of $10,000 in cash in the Illinois State Lottery's "Celebration "89" instant ticket game. Dawn Loeffler was the third winner to be chosen through daily drawings that began Aug. 28 and will run 50 consecutive days.
