Request for Proposals, Architectural Design Services for
Central Fire Station HVAC System Updgrades Study
The Public Works Department is soliciting qualifications from architectural firms for design services related to the study of the HVAC system of the City of Rock Island Central Fire Station located at 1313 - 5th Avenue. The proposed architectural/engineering work will include the evaluation of the current mechanical system, feasibility study of upgrading the system, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction inspection for the necessary repair work.
A goal has been established of a bid letting in time for completion of the work the following construction season; which should be reflected in your proposed schedule. It is expected that the selected firm will show expertise with and knowledge of appropriate mechanical system upgrades and construction cost opinions for these projects. In order to minimize the volume of information, please limit your submittal to the items listed above.
If you are interested in providing architectural services for this project, please submit (4) copies of your qualifications to this office on or before 5:00 PM, Monday, September 29, 2014 In order to be considered, the firm should show experience with similar projects. A list of personnel who will be involved in the project along with their relevant experience, a list of references, your current workload, a proposed scope of services and the anticipated schedule showing the proposed date of completion of the design phase must be provided.
You may contact Fire Chief James Fobert at (309) 732-2800 to arrange access to the fire station. After reviewing the architect’s qualifications, the selection committee consisting of the Fire Chief, City Engineer and two Assistant City Engineers will recommend a final selection to City Council.
