INVITATION TO BIDDERS
CITY OF ALEDO
SOUTH SEWAGE LAGOON AERATION REPAIR
Sealed bids for the construction of the South Sewage Lagoon Aeration Repair will be received at the City of Aledo City Hall at 120 N. College Ave., Aledo, Illinois 61231. The Bid Opening is at 10:00 AM (local time) on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the City of Aledo City Hall.
The project consists of supplying and installing new aeration blower/motor kits as well as installation of HDPE aeration line.
The Project Documents may be obtained by contacting Shane Larson at (309) 368-0689 or slarson@hutchisoneng.com. The Project Documents will be distributed electronically. The bidder will be responsible for making hard copies of the Project Documents.
All questions shall be directed to Shane Larson at slarson@hutchisoneng.com and received no later than Friday, October 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM. All questions shall be answered by issuing addenda no later than 12:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2014.

Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid forms, andmust be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Security and other documents asmay be described in the Instructions to Bidders.
A certified or cashier’s check payable to the City of Aledo or a Bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the Bid amountmust accompany each Bid. Bid securitymay be retained by the City of Aledo for a period of not-to-exceed sixty (60) days for all Bidders and not-to-exceed ninety (90) days for the Bidder given tentative award of Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Contract Bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount.
Biddersmust be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under this Contract for which a Bid is submitted.
Minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract have been established in accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Department of Labor.
Compliance with 30 ILCS 570/ Employment of IllinoisWorkers on PublicWorks Act and 820 ILCS 130/Illinois Prevailing Wage Act will be required under this Contract.
The City of Aledo reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the City of Aledo deem it to be in the public interest to do so. Unless Bids are rejected for good cause, the Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder.

In submitting this proposal it is understood that the right is reserved by the Board of Education of United Township High School to accept or reject any or all proposals, and to waive any informalities as its best interest may require.

1864 -- 150 years ago: The store of Devoe and Crampton was entered and robbed of about $500 worth of gold pens and pocket cutlery last night.
1889 -- 125 years ago: Michael Malloy was named president of the Tri-City Stone Cutters Union.
1914 -- 100 years ago: Dewitte C. Poole, former Moline newspaperman serving as vice consul general for the United States government in Paris, declared in a letter to friends that the once gay Paris is a city of sadness and desolation.
1939 -- 75 years ago: Plans for the construction of an $80,000 wholesale bakery at 2011 4th Ave. were announced by Harry and Nick Coin, of Rock Island. It is to be known as the Banquet Bakery.
1964 -- 50 years ago: An application has been filed for a state permit to organize a savings and loan association in Moline, it was announced. The applicants are Ben Butterworth, A.B. Lundahl, C. Richard Evans, John Harris, George Crampton and William Getz, all of Moline, Charles Roberts, Rock Island, and Charles Johnson, of Hampton.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Indian summer is quickly disappearing as temperatures slide into the 40s and 50s this week. Last week, highs were in the 80s.
