Staff report,

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A trio of local products reached their respective finals over the weekend at the USA Track and Field Championships.

Moline grad Aisha Praught came closest to capturing a top-three finish, posting a personal-best time of 9:34.69 to finish fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase. Now running for Nike, Praught finished less than two seconds from a bronze medal and, in an Olympic year, would be an Olympic alternate.

Riverdale's Dorian Ulrey also took eighth in the 1500 meter run. Also a Nike representative, Ulrey posted a time of 3:40.15 and was a second off the bronze-medal pace.

Praught's fellow Illinois State alum, Geneseo's Curt Jensen, took 10th in the shot put with a mark of 64 feet and 3.75 inches. The recent ISU grad also earned All-American honors in mid-June at the NCAA outdoor nationals.
