Edwardsville 6, Moline 2: Brett Newberg led the Maroons with three hits, one of those a double. Austin Fancher also collected a pair of base hits for Moline. Edwardsville scored three in the first inning and two in the fifth for the victory.
Geneseo 4, United Township 4 (8): The Panthers scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to force an eighth inning. However, with neither team able to score, the game was called due to darkness after eight innings. Zac White led the Maple Leafs with two hits, including a double. The Panthers were led by a trio of two-hit performers -- Dakota Johnson, Bryce Luken and Logan McDanel.
Rock Island drops pair in Jacksonville: Rock Island was unable to overcome seven errors on the day and fell 6-3 to Coal City in Game 1 before losing 5-1 to Normal West. Rock Island had five errors in Game 1 to go along with three walks and four hit batters. Luke Smith was the offensive star in the game for the Rocks, hitting a third-inning bases loaded, two-run single. Normal West used a three-run fourth inning to beat the Rocks in Game 2. Rock Island's lone run came on Trey Sigel's seventh-inning double.
Rockridge 6, Ridgewood 4: Sophomore Tyler Ulfig earned the pitching victory in relief for the Rockets, hurling three innings on a yield of one hit and one earned with three strikeouts. Alex Martin led Rockridge with two hits, including a home run and two RBIs. Blayne Street homered for the Spartans.
Moline 4, Ottawa 3: The Moline Maroons opened their season with a thrilling nonconference victory. Megan Adams earned the pitching victory when Moline scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lexi Jenkins and Allison Archer both recorded a pair of hits for the Maroons.
Rock Island 7, Escambia (Fla.) 4: The Lady Rocks won their sixth game of a spring break trip to Tennessee and Florida. DeAshya Walker hit a three-run homer to give the Rocks the lead in the fourth inning. Jasmine Ragusi padded a one-run lead in the top of the seventh with a two-run jack. Courtney Pearson picked up three hits for RI.
Rockridge 9, Ridgewood 4: The Rockridge Rockets were quick to finish off the Spartans, scoring four times in the bottom of the first and twice in the third. Darcee Parchert collected two hits for the Rockets. Tayah Hayes (2-0) earned the win in the circle for Rockridge. Ashley Collins collected two hits and two RBIs for Ridgewood.

SAU sweeps WPU: Davenport Assumption and Black Hawk College product Tommy Argo pitched all 10 innings in SAU's 4-2, 10-inning victory in the opener of the mid-week Midwest Collegiate Conference twinbill with William Penn. Argo allowed eight hits and one earned run with five strikeouts. Alex Timmerman provided the offense for Ambrose in the opener, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. David Yancey, another BHC transfer, pitched a complete game in the nightcap 4-0 victory. Timmerman doubled three times in Game 2, while Matt Rosenberger was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Vikings postponed: Augustana College's home opener vs. Rockford College scheduled for Wednesday evening at Swanson/Bruner Complex was postponed by the cold weather. Augustana officials say the game will hopefully be rescheduled, but no makeup date was set.
