Laura Jean Linson, 80, of Moline, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.
At Laura's request, her body will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Laura was born April 26, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of John and Eleanora Corcoran. The former Laura Corcoran was married to Harold Uriah Linson on Aug. 11, 1956, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Among Laura's favorite things in life were family, friends, gardening and playing bridge.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather (John, deceased) Linson, Hoboken, N.J.; two granddaughters, Erin (Dave) Linson, Bettendorf, and Ashley (Shirah) Linson, Ossining, N.Y.; great-granddaughter, Hannah Howlett; sister, Genevieve (Martin) Beirne, Medina, Ohio; brother-in-law, John (Sandy) Linson, Kansas City, Kan.; and three sisters-in-law, Dottie (Kelly, deceased) Corcoran, Mount Olive, Ill., Alice (Jim, deceased) Corcoran, St. Louis, Mo., and Bobbie (Don, deceased) Corcoran, Cleveland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold U. Linson; son, Harold U. Linson Jr.; five brothers, Jack, Denny, Jim, Kelly and Don Corcoran; three sisters, Eleanor Vahey, Virginia Hughes and Carol "Susie" Thornburg; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Corcoran Thomann and Gerry Corcoran.
Laura was "mother" to many and a friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
