Andrew G. Harmon, 66, of Aledo, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Online condolences can be made at fippingerfuneralhome.com
Andy was born Nov. 13, 1946, in Monmouth, to Kenneth "Fuzz" and Mary Alice Baker Harmon. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1965.
He was employed at Deere & Company in Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the NRA and he enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, go carts and NASCAR. In his early days, he raced cars and motorcycles at Cordova. He was an avid Chicago Bears football fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Keri Doherty, Arma, Kan., Shannon (Wil) Thomas, Burkburnett, Texas; a son, Joe (Lori) Harmon, Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen (James) McChesney, Aledo; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Billie Harrison-Holt, Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
