Alleman Pioneers
Coach:
Scott Stoll (1st season)
2012: 6th at Western Big 6 Conference meet
Returning state qualifiers: None
Other notables: Srs.: Sallie Doak (distance), Carli Hogan (distance); Jr.: Erin Morrisey (throws); Sophs.: McKenna VanMeighem (pole vault), Isabel Watts (sprints/jumps); Fr.: Nicole Polzin (throws)
Stoll's view of the Pioneers: "This is definitely a team for the future. Nearly 10 percent of our team is participating in track for the first time, and for several girls, this is their first time ever doing the sport. Therefore, the preseason prognosis is that of an extremely 'green' team, but we're pretty sure that by the end of the current season, we'll see our program start to bear fruit."

Geneseo Maple Leafs
Coach:
Joni Nelson (1st season)
2012: Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference and Class 2A sectional champions; 16th at state

Nelson's view of the Maple Leafs: "We've had a lot of success in the last couple years. We want to continue with that. We have a little more depth than we've had before. I'm excited to see what that can bring us."

Moline Maroons
Coach:
Joel Bohnsack (12th season)

Bohnsack's view of the Maroons: "We have great numbers and we are starting to realize the potential of the new athletes. We are excited to have both quality and more depth than we had last season. Our returning varsity athletes worked hard in the offseason and seem to be better and better prepared. Our new members seem to want to really work hard and are trying to get better each day."

Rock Island Rocks
Coach:
Michelle Lillis (17th season)
2012: Big 6 champions; Class 3A sectional runner-up; 13th at state

Lillis' view of the Rocks: "It's obvious by looking at the varsity roster that we are dominated by underclassmen. Many of the girls who have already significantly contributed to team scores in meets this season are underclassmen. ... I look for the team to grow in experience, strength and skill throughout the season."
