Sullivan named Kewanee volleyball coach; MC's Degelman resigns

Casie Sullivan, a 2006 Wethersfield graduate, has been named the Kewanee volleyball coach. Sullivan, who played at Illinois-Chicago, replaces Carissa Boyd.
Sullivan is currently student-teaching at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville and is serving as a volunteer coach with the school's boys' volleyball program.
While Kewanee has filled its volleyball vacancy, Mercer County has a similar opening after Amy Degelman resigned after one season as head coach. The Aledo graduate had served as an assistant for five seasons under her predecessor, Katie Jenkins.
In her season leading the Golden Eagles, Degelman maintained the success the program enjoyed in the fall of 2011. Mercer County earned its second straight winning season with a 17-16 finish and reached the 2A regional title match for the second consecutive year.
