Riverdale grad Emily Tysma finished second in the high jump last weekend at the Division III National Indoor Track Meet in Naperville.

Tysma's national runner-up performance helped Monmouth College finish fifth in the women's team-title chase.

Tysma cleared 5 feet, 7 3/4 inches, just a quarter-inch short of her school record. The junior and Ripon's Jenna Breaker both cleared the height to share first place, with Tysma declared the runner-up on the number of attempts.

In all, Monmouth's women and sixth-place men crowned one national champion and enjoyed six other combined All-American performances.
